The brand was founded in 1992 by Alexander McQueen after having been head designer at Givenchy.
Alexander McQueen's collections are known for both their emotional power and dramatic style as well as the exquisite tailoring which derives from McQueen’s experience at Savile Row.
Alexander McQueen designs, produces and distributes two brands, Alexander McQueen and McQ that includes women’s and men’s ready-to-wear collections and accessories.
Since the death of Alexander McQueen in 2010, his long-time design assistant and fellow Central Saint Martin's College of Art & Design graduate Sarah Burton has led the house.
