In the years that followed he became increasingly focussed on his own brand and at the turn of the millennium launched his first fragrance - an immediate commercial success. The brand joined the LVMH group in 2011 and after its flotation immediately became one of the most popular and valuable fashion brands in the international marketplace. Michael Kors’ role as a judge on the popular American television series ‘Project Runway,’ which shot to fame in 2004, further enhanced his success and popularity.
